Product Description

Dick Gear is a hit, reaching the top of multiple best seller lists with explicit books that defy categorization. Critics have called his work "trash," "horrible," and "among the worst pieces of literature ever written." Those are the good reviews!

And now, for the first time, you can read four hysterically twisted, perverse novellas all in one place. USED brings you four tales from the master of smut and comedy, totaling approximately 40,000 words.

CONTENTS:

Book 1- STUMPED.

Here are the ingredients that went into making STUMPED:

Allen, a salesman at a high-tech company who likes having sex with old women and laughing about it afterwards with his friends.

Katrina (aka Katarina), an old woman who likes having sex with younger men and then holding them hostage.

Timmy, a large man who isn't afraid to use a sharp cleaver on another living human being, even when said human being is screaming like Steven Tyler on crack.

Jack (aka Jacko) Allen's boss at the tech company. He's currently trying to stop screwing all of his female employees in order to avoid a sexual harassment case.

Eddie (aka Unsteady Eddie) A mentally challenged maintenance man who might just become Allen's best friend in the entire world.

Nadine, Allen's assistant who enjoys being sexually harassed at work, and then some.

Take these ingredients and mix together with a healthy portion of violence, graphic sex, and humor that pushes the envelope further than it was probably meant to be pushed. Add one final dash of mystery and you get STUMPED, a novella that defies description.

Book 2- WHORED.

Here are the ingredients that went into making WHORED:

Allen, a man with stumps for hands. He likes having sex with hookers, especially if he thinks they might give him a venereal disease.

Dr. Morgan, a therapist that enjoys hearing about Allen's escapades and might just want to join in on them.

Elena, the therapist's wife. She might be crazier than her husband.

Eddie, aka Unsteady Eddie. He once was a guy who Allen believed to be retarded. Now he's a guy with a meat cleaver stuck in his head.

Take these ingredients and mix together with a healthy portion of violence, graphic sex, and humor that pushes the envelope further than it was probably meant to be pushed. Add one final dash of mystery and you get WHORED, a novella that defies description.

Book 3- SLUT
Here are the ingredients that went into making SLUT:

Meg, a sexual predator that gobbles men up like Tic Tacs, but has a strange and embarrassing sexual secret.

Dr. Morgan, a therapist who just might have the cure Meg is looking for, a man that promises to be different than any of the others who came before him. A man who might be the only one capable of resisting her feminine charms.

A steady diet of semi-anonymous men that Meg meets at bars and other locales who are determined to get in her pants, up her dress, or otherwise lay their hands on her at any cost.

Book 4- CHUBBY CHASER
Here are the ingredients that went into making CHUBBY CHASER:

Chandler, a personal trainer with a penchant for women that use an industrial strength scale.

Ramona, one of Chandler's clients who's larger than life in every way and promises to be his piece de resistance in the art of chubby seduction.

Elmer, the manager at the gym where Chandler works. He's starting to get wise to the fact that none of Chandler's female clients are showing even the slightest improvement in their physical fitness.

Take these ingredients and mix together with a healthy portion of graphic sex and bizarre humor that pushes the envelope further than it was probably meant to be pushed. Add one final dash of mystery and you get USED, a compilation of novellas that defies description.

very funny
this a collection of 4 well written, humorous/pornographic novellas that certainly arent for everyone. the plots are given in the description so i won't rehash them.i found the stories funny, with some laugh out loud moments and the 4th (chubby chaser) was very touching in an odd way.once again, this isn't for everyone. but if you enjoy an opie&anthony, howard stern or an andrew dice clay style of cringe comedy i think you'd get a kick out of them.my only complaint is that i wish they were longer, you can polish this collection off in a night. but considering the inexpensive price i guess it balances out.

This Aint Ozzie and Harriet
Twisted? yeah! Perverted? Oh yeah! Fun? HELL YEAH! Dick Gear writes about the stuff we're all thinking about but refuse to talk about. Completely original and definitely boundary pushing USED is unlike almost everything else thats out there. I can only compare it to the works of Edward Lee at his most revolting. Thats not a bad thing. Buy this book, take an afternoon off and get lost in its pages and laugh hilariously while trying not to throw up. I read a bunch of genres by tons of authors and this guy is one of the most daring there is. If you want happy characters and cookie cutter plots this aint for you, but if you want in your face no-holds barred writing: BUY THIS BOOK!!!!!

Excellent Advice and No Rosy Glasses. Highly recommended
`The Home-Based Bookstore' is written by Steve Weber, who solicited this review from me and supplied me with a copy of his book. I expect this will not influence my review, but it is good for you to know this up front. Before I opened this book, I posed some questions I thought the book should answer. These questions, with the author's response follow:1. What are the criteria for choosing Amazon.com, eBay, or one's own site for selling a particular title? The author clearly prefers Amazon over most other options, although he gives some good reasons for setting up your own web page.2. How do you pick titles to sell? Some obvious examples, such as Stephen King hardcovers are really poor second hand sellers. The author gives some very general suggestions on which titles to pick and which titles to avoid. I agree with him almost entirely, although I can think of some exceptions to most of his titles to avoid; however, that is based...

A real nuts-and-bolts guide to making money
There are untold thousands of books on the market that promise the buyer a way to make money. Most just provide an outline, or some ideas that the author claims will produce guarenteed millions, buying distressed properties, government surplus, whatever. Some are by successful business owners, but don't really get into the details of running a business. And some are out-and-out frauds. This book, though, is almost unique among how-to business books. It's written by a successful busienssman, and it's a real, practical nuts-and-bolts guide to setting up an internet-based used book store. In fact, it's so detailed you have to wonder why the author is going to such pains to help set up his own competition. There are chapters on where to buy books, what books to sell and which to avoid, how to grade books, the best selling venues, how to describe books, how to set up an inventory system, how to deal with problems- if you can't run a business using this book alone, you...

In the meantime, he has sold more than $1 million of used books to buyers in all 50 states and 31 foreign countries. In this step-by-step guide, Weber tells you how he took $80 in savings to buy his first batch of books, then invested the profits to build a successful business, and how you can too.

Enough information to get you started.
The Home-Based Bookstore doesn't claim to be complete and comprehensive, so it's probably not fair to give it only four stars because it skimps on some useful information. For example, Mr. Weber recommends giving the customer a tracking number but doesn't make it clear how to get one. I'm sure this is idiotically simple to anyone familiar with postal transactions. That's probably why Mr. Weber didn't give a hand-holding description of the process.I was clueless. I took my first shipment to the post office and asked for a tracking number. The clerk started pulling out forms for costly and complicated types of service and began to spout arcane postal jargon. I couldn't cope with the information overload so I shipped my books without the all-important tracking number. My next trip I learned that you have to get DELIVERY CONFIRMATION. Look for the small lime-green form. It has a bar code label (with tracking number) that you attach to your...

Product Description

The market for used books is growing every day, but you need to know what books to sell or you'll lose your shirt. I've purchased books to resell for as little as 10 cents a book and effortlessly resold them for upwards of $10 each!

How much can you make? That depends. It depends on the types of books you have for sale. It depends on how diligent you are in finding the top-selling books.

It depends on how well you follow through and ship the books on time, protecting your seller rating that is so important for getting future orders.

I think it’s very easy to earn $10 a day ($300 a month) to $30 a day ($900 a month) because I do it all the time. More $10 and $20 days than $30 days. But it can be done. Very easily.

And when you’ve done it, you can pay off bills. Take a vacation you couldn’t afford before. Go out to dinner at nice restaurants a few more times a month. Pay off your student loan early. Donate the extra cash to your church or to your favorite charity. It’s your money, so you decide how to spend it.

You may find out that you want to reinvest your profits back into your business. This is a good idea because adding more valuable books to your stock will allow you to make higher profits, and you may find new business opportunities as you go about your business of finding and reselling used books.

I’m not promising that you’ll make $5,000 a week. I won’t insult your intelligence that way.

This guide is designed to show you how to spend as little as 1 hour a day operating your own home-based bookstore very cheaply. In fact, the driving force behind the tips and techniques you’ll find here in this e-book will be to demonstrate that you don’t need to invest in lots of inventory, you don’t need to subscribe to expensive services, you don’t need to buy much equipment. You probably have most of what you need right in your own home (for instance, you likely already had a computer before you bought this e-book, so there’s no need to buy another one.) You probably already have a digital camera, you probably already have Internet access, and you probably can pick up shipping supplies for less than $25 the next time you’re at Wal-Mart.

I’ll show you how I balance do things cheaply and doing things efficiently – and these are not always the same thing. Sometimes, it’s true, that you ought to spend a little money to make your task easier.

But we’ll get to that later. Right now, I simply want to assure you this:

Anyone can do this. If I can do it, so can you! It's recession-proof. When the economy is slow, it seems like used books just sell all that much better. And, when the economy turns around, I'm sure that these dirty used books will still be sought after ... if you stock up on the best books to sell now and learn how to make money in your spare time doing what I do!

Where to locate hidden and out-in-the-open places where you’ll uncover a boatload of books to resell. You’ll find where to source all the used books you can sell – right in your hometown. They might be in your own collection, maybe those being tossed out by family, friends or neighbors.

Ways you can guarantee that you’ll make a nice profit on almost every book that you purchase for resell online… BEFORE you invest a single penny! Comparing current pricing and sales rank of like books is so easy. You may already have the perfect tool in your pocket right now to do it.

I’ll share my own experiences on what to stock up on: the best books that sell promptly, and turn over a nice profit for you. Keep an eagle eye out for these winners everywhere you shop and you can’t go wrong. I’ll also warn you which books to leave behind. They just take up space.

How I set a strategy for pricing my books for maximum profits. I don’t always offer them up for the lowest price – and neither should you.

Order your copy of "How To Make Easy Money Selling Your Old Used Books On Amazon" today and get started making easy extra income in your spare time! Top to learn more

A must-have for book book lovers.
I started to become interested in book collecting about 2 years ago and this was one of the first books that I purchased. It is an excellent book for a beginning collector. The author describes the history of book production and how books are produced in modern times. There is also a very good chapter on the grading of books, and how to determine if a book is "collectible." Another chapter describes ways to determine if a book by a certain publisher is a first edition. However, if you plan to collect rare, old books then this text may not be the best for you. The focus of this book is on collecting modern first editions.Although it's full of facts, the book is written in a light, easy-to-read style. The author is an avid book collector and he provides plenty of anecdotes about his experiences. The author assumes that the reader is interested in book collecting both for pleasure and for profit. He explains in detail how to acquire collectible books as inexpensively as...

Do You Have A Fortune Sitting On Your Bookshelf?
If you love to buy and collect new or used books, then chances are you have some very collectible books just lying around. Some may be worth a fortune. A book doesn't have to be old or a first edition Hemingway to be worth money. There are thousands of highly collectible modern first editions. It's easy to find them, too . . . often at prices far below market value. The secret: Learn which books are in demand (many are more common than you may think), and then try to find them in first editions. Some may be sitting on your shelf right now. Often, publishers state "First Edition" on a title page, but far from always. And even if you know you have a first edition, how do you know if it's collectible? Ellis gives detailed information on how to identify first editions and books worth collecting. You'll learn about how later editions can be collectible, too. There's tons of solid, money making advice on how to become a book collector, even if you're on a...

Good intro for beginners
I bought this book as I was starting into book collecting. But with about 4 months of intensive collecting and study under my belt, I found it not to have too much new or really useful information. Is is, however, very well written and engaging enough that I read the entire book. If you are starting at a slower pace than I did or if you are just thinking about becoming a book collector this is a fine place to start. It has chapter-length overviews of all the important realms and activities of book-collecting. The only weak-spot, but an important one, is in the area of internet books. In being about 2-3 years behind, it is not an adequate introduction to the range of online resources available to the new collector. Most useful was a list of "1001 more-or-less collectible books" listed by author at the back. (Lacking years of experience, such lists are critical for my reference). This is a useful thing to have around at book sales and the like (along with a good guide to...

Letting Go In So Many Respects Present Here
Lama Surya Das is a profound teacher when it comes to Tibetan Buddhism. He remembers that his teachers always observed that the most important step in dealing with grief and suffering was to look at the losses pragmatically. Surya Das adds: "Like the Buddha, we want to find the lessons that lie buried in suffering and pain. Questioning is an essential part of the spiritual path: self-inquiry, introspection, philosophy - all involve genuine doubt and skepticism as propellants fueling the spiritual journey. We find meaning in the seeking itself." In short, we must find the answers for ourselves. No text, as wonderful as it might even be, can do this exploration for us. As opposed to trying to escape from bereavement and hindrance, we can face them with insight and strength. There is an enormous breadth of teachings stories in this book. From something jotted down in a Nursery school by a toddler, to Zen allegories-Surya Das unabashedly draws from the best of so many sources...

An outstanding book for transformation!
Lama Surya Das has given us a handbook on living. "Letting Go" is an excellent book for anyone going through loss, change, illness, or a desired transformation of being. This book is easily read and has been written like he is talking to you in person. While it is very Buddhist in background, this is a book anybody from any religious background can gain from. I resell many of my buddhist books but this is one I will be keeping in my library to re-read in the future. Surya Das has a easy way of explaining Buddhism in a more westernized way that makes this an excellent book for newcomers to this faith and way of being. I also loved the Medicine Buddha section which gives full instruction on a healing mantra and visualizations for physical, mental, and spiritual healing. It reminds me very much of guru yoga for those of you familiar with Dzogchen practice. Read this book for yourself and give out several for gifts. Surya Das, I can't wait for more of your writings. You are one...

Product Description

The beloved American Lama, a spiritual leader whose inimitable light and
lively universal teaching style has awakened the spirituality of thousands, now shares an enlightened approach to change and loss, dealing with difficult emotions such as fear, grief, and anger, and the role of crisis in uncovering our authentic selves.

For many people, recent years have been characterized by profound change, whether it relates to financial upheaval, political shifts, or even massive losses of life to disease and violence. Even on the personal level each person must confront the curves life throws his or her way. Buddhism has a great deal to say about change and impermanence and how to meaningfully deal with it. Change--whether on a large or small scale--provides our most important opportunity for learning about ourselves and the nature of reality. From this essential insight Lama Surya Das has crafted a fulfilling and important path to understanding and healing ourselves and finding peace.

Full of personal stories, anecdotes, practical exercises, guided meditations and reflections, and pithy original aphorisms, Letting Go of the Person You Used to Be addresses life's most universal difficulties in a way that is accessible to all. By using memorable concepts such as The Virtues of Adversity, The Pearl Principle ("No inner irritation, no pearl"), and Gaining through Loss, Surya reminds readers that hiding from change and loss is futile. Learning to consciously accept and embrace change leads to a better understanding of ourselves and our own innate divine light. Top to learn more

Pleasant but not far reaching
I have been pursuing Buddhist literature for many years and I have to admit I was a little bit disappointed with this book from Lama Surya Das. Whilst I hold his other two in higher regard (Awakening the Buddha within, Awakening the Buddhist Heart), I thought this particular rendition was lacking in substance. The title was somewhat misleading. Whilst Surya Das does discuss one of the virtues of Buddhism (if I can call it that)of letting go, it is purely a description of anecdotes of people who haven't let go. Letting go is such a simple thing and yet is also one of the hardest. If you're looking for instructions as to how to achieve 'letting go', there isn't any here. Anecdotes don't stop there - there are sprinkled everywhere throughout this book. The rest of the book looks at other elements such as loss and heroism. It's a bit of a mish mash of this and the other. I thought that there wasn't enough here to relate to the title of the book. Maybe a different title...

An excellent resource!
"Wow! I sold a few of my used books on Amazon and made a nice little chunk of change! I think I'll find some more to list, and become a bookseller!"Whoa, hoss. Yes, this is exactly how many people start selling used books online. But before you grab those Grisham and Clancy paperbacks at your neighbor's yard sale, do yourself and the marketplace a huge favor: Read this book.Whether you've been selling used books for years or just barely getting started, there's much to be found between the covers of "Selling Used Books Online". It's a well-organized, thoughtfully presented and thoroughly readable business resource. The selection and pricing strategies alone, if conscientiously applied, will likely return your investment in this book many times over. But this should also go hand-in-hand with appropriate book grading and description, as well as good customer service; these, too, are covered quite well and amount to best-practice models which would significantly improve...

Author Stephen Windwalker, a successful online seller himself who has also operated a brick-and-mortar bookshop, provides a treasure trove of up-to-date information with verve, clarity, and wit.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has reported that the number of third-party sellers on his company's website grew from over 100,000 in the fourth quarter of 2001 to over 150,000 in the first quarter of 2002, and roughly one-third of these appear to be entrepreneurial sellers who are operating full- or part-time businesses in competition with each other, with Amazon, and with very large Amazon Marketplace sellers such as Powell's, the Strand bookstore, and Alibris. Selling Used Books Online meets the needs of booksellers and business readers who want to stay current on market changes, best sources, insider's tips and tactics, and best practices, and is also a essential addition for public libraries, the small business and entrepreneurship market and related agency and educational markets, and publishing industry and bibliophile readers. Useful for basics, but becoming dated
I first read this book two years ago, soon after it came out, when I was first starting my online book selling business. The book is useful in laying out the basics of the business model and the nuts and bolts of Amazon.com Marketplace selling. It goes through where to find books, how to list them for sale, how to fulfill orders, and how to manage your inventory. This is the best and most specific book available on these topics. It also goes into some basics regarding accounting and future business growth issues, but these topics are treated much more cursorily. The biggest weakness of the book, however, is that the information is becoming dated.A number of third party services have become available since 2002 that help sellers in book scouting, inventory management, and order fulfillment (e.g., Scoutpal, Sellerengine, Aman, Mail Extractor, etc.). These have altered the way most successful sellers run their businesses. Most high volume sellers don't edit individual...

Some Excellent Advice for the New & Experienced Seller!
Stephen Windwalker has written a very good how-to guide on selling used books online, specifically on Amazon.com's own website. He begins with a brief section that must be required for any author to write if they are writing about something entrepreneurial - is this business for you? and continues with a brief overview of the bookselling business in general. Then he walks the beginners through setting up an account online so that you can begin selling. The middle section was one of the strongest with sections on suppliers & sources (who to buy from, how to find suppliers, mailing materials, etc.), building your inventory: where to get your books, which contains some interesting ideas as to where to go to buy the books (libraries, garage sales, dumpster diving, local churches, etc.), and what books to get, which provided some excellent advice, especially for beginners, on what books to avoid purchasing because they do not sell well or there is a big glut in the market for ($0.01...
